Transition area: Unsupported Option

One (1) Hockey sized gear bag, large duffel or heavy-duty garbage bag. Bag should be capable of holding life jackets and paddles. All bags must have large tags or Duct tape on them to allow race officials to mark your team number on them at Race Check -In.

Bags will need to have paddling gear in them and team name and number marked on them prior to the start of the race. Race staff will transport the bags to the canoe put in.

Each Racer allowed to have One (1) large Rubbermaid Action Packer style bin. This bin will contain everything needed for your personal use for the entire event (except paddling gear - see above) 2 & 4 person teams will be allowed one extra bin for required team gear including a shelter suitable for the entire team to get in out of the weather.

There will be Jet Boil or equivalent systems available at TA's to allow unsupported racers the ability to heat water for warm food.

FORBIDDEN EQUIPMENT: The following is a list of equipment that is forbidden during the race. Any team possessing any of these items will be disqualified from the race.

  1. G.P.S. devices
  2. night vision goggles
  3. weapons of any sort (with the exception of the mandatory knife)
  4. any mode of transportation not authorized by event organizers
  5. maps not provided by race organizers

This is not necessarily a complete list of forbidden equipment. Any device or item that offers an unfair advantage to the team possessing it may also be deemed as forbidden. Please check with event organizers prior to start of race if you have any items that may be questionable. If it is decided that the item will not be forbidden, event organizers will keep the query confidential.
